Hi, I am Andrew

I am a software engineer living in Stirling, UK 🇬🇧. I specialise in building native iOS 📱 and macOS 💻 applications. Though I have built a few React-Native and Android ones.

Here are a few projects that I have worked on, built, and or deployed.

For over 11 years I was Mathematics and Computer Studies teacher. Teaching in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, Italy 🇮🇹, The Bahamas 🇧🇸 and The USA 🇺🇸. And for a time I was also a PADI scuba diving instructor 🤿, reaching the rank of Master Scuba Diver Trainer, however I have since hung up my teaching fins.

I occasionally volunteer at Codebase Stirling's biweekly Prewired event, helping to mentor new coders. I have also been a STEM Ambassador.

I was a technical editor on Daniel Steinberg's books on SwiftUI, functional programming and Combine, which can be purchased on Gumroad here. I really recommend them as they are a fantastic resource.

I am passionate about learning and love acquiring new skills. I am an active indoor rower 🚣 and I have competed at both the Scottish and British Indoor Championships. I am also an avid runner 🏃🏻. I am trying to run all the Abbot Marathon Majors.
